Tulancingo is located 70 minutes from Mexico City by way of the México-Pirámides-Tuxpan highway, and is the second most important city of the state of Hidalgo.

 

Industry

The city is recognized as the primary wool center of Mexico, especially with its thread and knitting factories, cashmere, blankets, blouses and embroidered skirts. Tulancingo is also an important dairy basin and has a strong apple cider production using apples that are grown in the region. The arts and crafts works consists of clay, earthenware, paving stone, silver work and stone sculptures.
